Publisher’s Responsibilities
The publisher is committed to supporting the efforts of editors, the academic contributions of authors, and the voluntary work of reviewers. Additionally, the publisher ensures the seamless operation of the publication system and the application of ethical guidelines to assist editors, authors, and reviewers in upholding ethical standards.
Editor’s Responsibilities
1. Acknowledge receipt of submitted manuscripts within two working days and ensure a fair, efficient, and timely review process.
2. Maintain confidentiality by restricting manuscript content access to only the corresponding author, reviewers, and the publisher.
3. Recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist with authors or affiliated institutions.
4. Protect reviewer anonymity by not disclosing their details to third parties without consent.
5. Make the final decision on manuscript acceptance or rejection based on its originality, significance, clarity, and relevance to the journal.
6. Avoid coercing authors to cite the journal as a condition for acceptance.
7. Refrain from using unpublished data from submitted manuscripts for personal research.
8. Promptly address ethical complaints related to submitted or published manuscripts, consulting with authors when necessary, and issuing formal corrections or retractions when required.
Author’s Responsibilities
1. Refrain from submitting the same or substantially similar manuscripts to multiple journals concurrently. Previously published work should not be resubmitted unless under acceptable conditions, such as clinical guidelines and translations.
2. Provide a clear and concise report of their research along with an objective discussion of its significance.
3. Collect and interpret research data honestly. Authors should be prepared to provide raw data for editorial review and public access where feasible.
4. Ensure submitted work is original, with proper citations for any sources used. Any form of plagiarism is unethical and unacceptable.
5. Explicitly acknowledge all sources of research support and declare any conflicts of interest.
6. Properly credit contributors to the research and list coauthors who have made significant contributions. All coauthors must approve the final manuscript for publication.
7. Promptly inform the journal editor of any errors in published work and cooperate in issuing corrections or retractions. If errors are identified by others, the author must respond accordingly based on the publication medium.
Reviewer’s Responsibilities
1. Decline to review a manuscript if unqualified to do so or unable to meet the deadline, notifying the editor immediately.
2. Recuse themselves if a conflict of interest exists, particularly if they have a personal or academic relationship with any of the authors that may introduce bias.
3. Maintain confidentiality by not disclosing or discussing the manuscript with unauthorized individuals.
4. Conduct an objective review, avoiding personal criticism of the author.
5. Refrain from using unpublished data from the manuscript for personal research.
6. Report any similarities between the manuscript and other published or under-review papers to the editor.
7. Notify the editor of any suspected plagiarism or data falsification.
